I'm Back!

Hey Guys-

I am back, and feel like I should apologize for not writing for so long. I don't really know why I feel like I need to apologize for not writing on my personal blog, but I do. So here I am. Sorry.

So we are married! We are now a legal family, and it feels great. The kids really seem to be affected by it, which is so surprising, because it will be 4 years in August that we have been living together. The kids are saying stuff like "You're my dad now" (like he wasn't before). Interesting.

The kids are all doing well, on summer vacation, and in good health.

The wedding was great, with some interesting stories that I may get to soon. The kids were all "junior brides" and "junior grooms" complete with their own "junior maid-of-honors" and even a "junior best-man" They were so excited to be able to bring their best friends on such a wonderful vacation, to such a beautiful place.

In addition to doing a sand ceremony to include our children, we also said vows to them and gave them rings. It was beautiful!

Paralyzed with Fear

I have a strange, unrelentless, incredibly strong fear of marriage.

I am 31 years old, I've never been married.

I have been proposed to by 4 people in my life.

I said no 3 times.

I am getting married in 3 months.

I woke up crying this morning about it.

I'm petrified.

Vowels

Brooke: I worked on my vowels last night.

Me: Your what?

Brooke: My vowels. for the wedding. I worked on them. Their not done yet.

Me: Oh, their called vows. Without the "l". Vowels are, you know, a e i o u.

Kyley: And sometimes Y.

So yes, we are incorporating our kids in all aspects of this wedding. I have been working on the perfect monogram for us. Here is one that a fellow knottie, Ponticelli came up with.

Couch to 5K......My Way

The ten tips of a successful excercise program:

1)Try on a beautiful gown that you are in love with. Have the seamstress tell you that you need to lose 3-5 lbs. to wear the dress. Buy the dress anyway.

2)Find a partner. Make sure the partner that you chose is someone who you feel comfortable saying very bad words around, because it will happen. In fact, the partner should be someone that you can actually CALL a very bad name, because this is very likely to happen as well.

3)Do minimal research on your program. Find a program that has a catchy name, and google the program. Do not actually read the sites that come up on google. Just read the headlines. (Podcast? What podcast?)

4)Tell your partner to make you do the program. (see above about choosing a partner that you can call a bastard) Not the actual program mind you, because you haven’t done any research. The program that you make up as you go along. It may help to tell him/her that you DID do the research, because they may be more apt to do it your way.

5)Bring your dog. There will come a time when you do not give a damn anymore that your partner is wanting to do the program. Your dog, on the other hand, has the cutest wittle bittle sad eyes in the world, and she wants to wunny wun yes she does.

6)Shave your armpits on a regular basis. Seriously. When you run, your arms will inadvertently move. If you don’t shave your armpits, they will be very prickly and become itchy. At some point you will scratch them, and then, under your fingernails, you will find a clump of deodorant mixed with sweat. Not at all pleasant.

7)Choose a spot to run that is not near any children or elderly. This way, you will have no qualms about yelling out your very bad words, if need be.

8)Keep lots of snacks on hand. No one told me, but I will tell you, your appetite will go up! You will have an insatiable hunger like never before. I prefer
these:

and these:

But, if you find that you run out, feel free to dig into your child’s supply of these:

Hint: These are small bags, so make sure to eat two at a time.

9)You will be thirsty, so buy some of this:

You will have heard that you are supposed to drink water, and we all know that it is not so yummy, so keep this stuff in the fridge, and rejoice that you are doing something "good" for your body.

10)If you chose a program with a title like mine, make sure to do ample amount of the “couch” part of the program. You got off your ass and worked up a sweat. You deserve it dammit!

Ode to Wedding Dress

Oh dear dress I love thee so,
Only now I have to run, so my butt wont grow.
With you I am so in love
Do you have to fit just like a glove?
My legs hurt, they are so sore,
And honestly I looked fine before.
I’ve never been worried about my weight,
So now look what you helped create.
You squeeze me in, and push me up
In you it appears that I grew a cup.
Because your mine, I now walk the line
But even you wont stop me from drinking my wine.
Yes I adore you and you fill me with glee.
I just hope when I wear you I wont have to pee.

Want to make my veil? I'll send you pictures, pay you, and love you forever. It's ridiculous what the bridal shop wants for it. Pretty please? With a cherry on top?

I swear they love each other!

A conversation I overheard today between Jacob and Rainia

Jake: I'm gonna wear a suitcase in the wedding. And a tie.

Rainia: You're going to wear a suitcase?

Jake: Yeah, it's black. And a tie.

Rainia: Oh, you mean a SUIT.

Jake: And a tie.

Rainia: Well, I'm gonna wear a tiarra, because I'm going to be a princess.

Jake: You gonna be a ugly princess.

Rainia: Well, you're the ugliest troll in the world.

Jake: Is my teacher gonna be nice at kindergarden?

Rainia: You're teacher's gonna be SO nice. If you say I'm the prettiest princess in the world you can play with my slinky.

Jake: OK. You're the pretty princess.

Rainia: In the world.

Jake: Oh never mind.

Paper

I went to get some more paper for my project, and the paper I am using is SO incredible. In the store, I caressed it, and then I hugged it, and then I licked it. Because I couldn't resist. Then Rick said I was crazy. Then he said that he was going to cover his body in that paper, and just for a minute, I entertained the thought and smiled. That is how much I love that paper.

Family

So I don't want to turn this into "the wedding blog" but I am already stressed and emotional to the point of crying, and we are only trying to chose a location. How am I going to do this?

Kyley had her last day of horse camp last Fri. She was very sad, and asked Mr. Jim (the owner) if maybe she would be able to ride on the weekends some time. Mr. Jim was very kind and told her yes, but unfortunately a couple had bought "her" horse. The horse that Kyley has been taking care of is Montana. He is a 7 yr. old paint. She has been riding him daily, as well as learning all of the horse care on him. She has gotten very attached to him, and is understandably upset that someone has bought him. Mr. Jim informed her that the couple would be taking him home, instead of boarding him, so she wouldn't be seeing him if she visited the barn on weekends. She cried, but had to pull it together, because the couple showed up at the barn to get him, and wanted to ask her about him since she is the one who knows the most about him. Imagine her surprise when she walked out of the barn and saw us. WE were the couple who bought Montana. Oh, and Mr. Jim exagerated when he said the couple was taking Montana home. Montana is in fact staying at the barn where people know how to take care of horses. Also, we didn't actually buy Montana, Rick traded him. We are in the South you know. Rick says that it was a good trade, because when the gas prices get even worse, he will be riding Montana to work.

This is Kyley's intense hapiness

Homemade Sucks!

Note to self:

Never, ever think that DIY is cute and original. Sentimental is SO over-rated! You could have chosen magnet save-the-date cards like everybody else. And then you would be done instead of spending every waking moment working.
